Michael Humphreys was named Pennsylvania Insurance Commissioner for the Pennsylvania Insurance Department (PID) in February 2022 and confirmed unanimously in June 2023. He was the PID's chief of staff from 2019 to 2022. Before joining the PID, Humphreys served as Assistant Commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance from 2012 to 2019 and before that, as the National Conference of Insurance Legislators’ Director of State-Federal Relations. Michael holds a BA from the University at Buffalo and an MPA from Bowling Green State University.
