CEO Angles: What’s Next in Insurance Distribution

Independent agents and brokers are an important bridge between insurance carriers and insureds. Following a year filled with unforeseen crises, including the COVID-19 pandemic, an overactive hurricane season, social unrest and extensive wildfires, much stress has been placed on insurance distributors.

In this AAIS Pulse session, AAIS CEO Ed Kelly welcomes Bob Rusbuldt, CEO of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA) for an open discussion on the state of the independent insurance distribution network, the major issues affecting Big “I” members, the potential impact of a new administration in Washington, and much more.

Capitol Outlook

AAIS VP and General Counsel Robin Westcott is joined by Patrick Hughes, a partner at the leading international law firm of Faegre Drinker, to discuss the potential impact of a Biden Administration and new Congress on the insurance industry, including federal legislation for business interruption in the wake of COVID-19, legalization of cannabis, changes to anti-trust provisions, federal regulatory direction, and a look ahead at state-based regulation.

Arron Lamp, Vice President Enterprise Business Intelligence & Analytics
& Operations, at Travelers, for an enlightening panel discussion on parallels between the open source evolution in insurance and other emerging tech spaces. You’ll hear where AAIS is going with openIDL, our first-of-its-kind distributed ledger technology specifically for the insurance industry, and understand how open source and openIDL have the power to transform your business.
